Inspired by the movie "The Sheltering Sky" a 1990 British-Italian drama film directed by Bernardo Bertolucci and based on the 1949 novel by Paul Bowles about a couple who journey to northern Africa in the hopes of rekindling their marriage but soon fall prey to the dangers that surround them. Ethnic finds its way back to our wardrobe this summer. Casual pieces (pantaloons, shirt dresses and blouses) of organic-natural fabrics such as linen and cotton. Cross stitching prints, indigo blue, earthy stripes and some bright colors such as yellow and orange exude something exotic. Sandals, espadrilles, turbans and lots of accessories complete the postcolonial style that I was inspired by the movie. Such editorials could be found in magazines such as W magazine, the gentlewoman and Vogue. σ
